A native of Petersburg , Lincoln County , Tennessee .   Gary attended Freed Hardeman University , graduating summa cum laude in 1995 with BA's in both Bible and History.  He then graduated magna cum laude from the Cumberland School of Law in 1998.   Gary served as the pulpit minister for the Lone Oak church of Christ from 1994 to 1995 and again in 1998.   Gary has worked with the Mountain Creek congregation since June 2000 and has served as the pulpit minister since June 2004.   Gary is also a practicing attorney with his own firm – Massey & Associates, PC.   Gary enjoys being outdoors – boating, hunting and spending time on the family farm in Middle Tennessee. Gary is married to the former Michelle Hayes of Waverly, Tennessee .  They have three wonderful children, Lauren, Elizabeth, and Mark, and live on Signal Mountain
